As part of its new business strategy to win market share in the country's major industries, Orabank Chad paid a visit to Cotontchad Société Nouvelle, a company that buys, gins and sells cotton fibre and by-products, including vegetable oil, oil cake and, in the near future, soap.
Cotontchad Société Nouvelle is based approximately 600 km from the capital N’Djaména in the city of Moundou, where Orabank opened a branch in February 2011. The company is wholly state-owned and has six cotton fibre production plants located in Moundou, Pala, Kélo, Léré, Koumra and Sarh. It employs 3,000 people, making it Chad's second largest employer after the state.
